For anyone who gets stuck in the monotonous queue of traffic on Bridge Rd in Llandaff (Cardiff), it's worth looking out for Chestnut Leaf-miner (Cameria ohridella) mines on the horse chestnuts along the edge of the BBC studio grounds. I noticed three mines this morning among the blight-infested leaves. George Tordoff

On a rather cool evening, two L-album Wainscots were found on Ivy at Overton last night, providing reasonable evidence that this species could now have established itself as a breeding species in the county.
